A New Chapter: Thank You and Stay Connected

Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Supporters,

After leading AGPR Public Relations Consulting for 14 years, I am excited to share that I am rejoining my first career love in the field of higher education. This transition, while bittersweet, will bring operations of AGPR to a close this month.

As AGPR’s founder and managing principal, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your unwavering support, business, and friendship over the years. This includes former staff, interns, strategic partners, and my generous “kitchen cabinet” of business advisors. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from you all.

So, what’s next? I’m honored to announce my selection as the Director of University Communications and Media Relations at the University of Central Missouri. In this role, I’ll act as the university’s principal liaison with our institution and news media. My duties will include crafting and implementing communication strategies as well as overseeing crisis communications.

Good times: Your humble MC interviews a young artist while auction legends the Nigro Brothers look on at an Arthritis Association fundraiser. Many years ago, in AGPR’s infancy, 2010.

While AGPR may be closing its doors, the PR blog at AlexGPR.com will remain active, providing a platform for ongoing discussions and insights into the ever-evolving world of public relations and marketing (always looking for guest posts!). Moreover, my PR and writing podcasts will also continue, though the number of episodes per season will be reduced. As you can imagine, my fiction writing will be largely put on hold until I establish the rhythms of my new schedule.

I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that I could not have started and grown a business over the years without the support and understanding of my wife, partner, and friend, Stephanie. One of the reasons I started my business was to have flexible time with our daughter Caroline, from toddler to teenager. It has been an unbelievable blessing to have had that privilege.

Education has always been in my blood! This is also from the early days.

I guess my TV days are over now!

As I step into this new role, I carry with me the lessons learned and the relationships built during my time at AGPR. If we are not yet connected on LinkedIn, I hope you will join me there.

I look forward to staying connected with each of you and hope our paths cross in new and exciting ways.

Sincerely,

J. Alex Greenwood
