One of the core deficits of individuals with autism is communication. Every individual has the capability of learning a method of communication. At ACI Learning Centers we help each individual find their voice.
This webinar will discuss looking at the function or purpose of a person’s communication. There are many ways that others in the individual’s environment can modify their behavior to increase opportunities for communication. We will discuss setting expectations to increase the number and variety of words on a daily basis.
We will also talk about ideas on how to set up instances where the individual would need to communicate. Finally we will discuss the importance of working together in all environments to set high expectations and tracking the variety of words used.
