No April Fool–Just Great Info on the Affordable Care Act

PodcastIMGThe Affordable Care Act has many Americans confused and concerned about the government-mandated healthcare insurance, prompting a leading Kansas City insurance broker to use every means possible to reach people and answer questions, including podcasting.

“I have a blog, a Facebook page, a Twitter account, an e-newsletter, a website, a YouTube channel–you name it. I want to answer questions about Obamacare, and that means reaching people in every way possible,” said Greg Howard, a federally certified Affordable Care Specialist with USA Benefits Group and USA Benefits Exchange in Lenexa, Kan. “Podcasting is the next frontier–that’s why the ACA Made Easy podcast is now here.”

Hosted by our own Alex Greenwood and featuring interviews with Howard, the ACA Made Easy Podcast features weekly, ten-minute installments where he answers questions about Obamacare. The show is free, available on iTunes and on his website, www.ACAMadeEasy.com. It is also one of only a handful of podcasts in existence devoted specifically to Obamacare.

A podcast is a digital medium consisting of an episodic series of audio or video subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device. The term podcast is derived from the words “broadcast” and “pod,” largely due to the success of the iPod, as audio podcasts are often listened to on portable MP3 players–of which the iPod is the most ubiquitous.

A large percentage of podcasts are accessed through Apple’s iTunes store, though listeners also access the shows through apps like TuneIn Radio, SoundCloud, Stitcher, iHeartRadio and individual websites.

“Think of it as a radio show you can take anywhere,” Howard said. “The gym, grocery store, the car. You can listen to podcasts virtually wherever you may listen to music or talk radio by using your iPod, phone or MP3-compatible car system.”
