Indie Book Marketing: Don’t Forget Libraries

I was interviewed about how I market my indie paperbacks and ebooks by Bookworks recently.

One such up-and-comer is J. Alexander Greenwood, author of John Pilate Mystery Series: Pilate’s Cross, Pilate’s Key and Pilate’s Ghost and Kickstarter Success Secrets: How I Crowdfunded My Last Novel.

 

When not heading up AlexanderG Public Relations in Kansas City, Missouri with oversight in social media and content marketing for his clients, Greenwood moonlights as an indie author of mystery novels. And while not disputing the effectiveness of social media marketing per se, he also employs traditional marketing techniques with a twist to achieve his goal.

 

“After using every social media platform available to promote my indie titles, I went old school: I ingratiated myself with the fantastic staff at the Kansas City Public Library System. They have a tough policy for accepting indie books, but I submitted mine and simultaneously pitched the idea of creating a public lecture on why I took the self-publishing route,” said Greenwood.
