Talk it Over

You may be at the helm of a business, but there’s no guaranteeing you know everything there is to know. Include members of your team in a planning activity and use everyone’s heads collectively.

Set out a board meeting to make sure people attend and then get down to the real business. Brainstorming is incredibly useful, and a lot of ideas no matter their quality can be gathered together in a quick 5 or 10 minutes. Everyone has a stake in the business and want it to do well, so trust those around you to help take it into success after success.

Use Creativity in Your Setup

A little bit of creativity, in which you design to your business content, goes a long way. And it won’t add to the red tape of an event either! Of course, it’s okay to have a marquee in a garden or to open up a hall for guests to stream into, but it isn’t particularly aesthetic, or fun, to do so.

Use this time to pop bunting and banners and balloons up. Of course, you’re always going to take pride in an event, but this can only be shown off by something flashy and interesting. You may think the usual decorative elements sound either a little garish or childish for a big business event, but they can be truly sophisticated when they’re in the right colors. These usually include silvers and golds, or chromes and deep shades like black, white, beige, or burgundy.

Remember that any tables or chairs guests are to sit on should have leaflets and promotions on them. The tables can even have centerpieces that are a break away from the usual flowers or wire models. There’s no lost professionalism here.

Have a Stage Act or Two

Set out a focal point in wherever it is you’ve decided to host your event by either marking out a stage or building/hiring one out. Arrange chairs or tables in front of this area and allow guests to recline at their leisure while you keep them interested. One good way to do this, and to up the entertainment ante of the night: put on a bit of a show.

You can hire out some event hostesses to keep guests focused and willing to stay around for longer, and these kind of people are incredibly talented when it comes to showing off in front of a crowd.

You can work with a lot when it comes to planning your own business function, so don’t skimp on the details, and put all your heads together as one.
